Christmas is a very special holiday – all around the world. While in South Korea, it’s more a couple holiday, when you go out on cute dates, you can still get into the holiday cheer with all the beautiful decorations in Seoul! Here are the most beautiful holiday lights and decorations for spending the perfect Christmas in Seoul.

Christmas in Seoul: Which Lights and Illuminations Not To Miss

From the Galleria Department Store to Seoul Plaza, Times Square and Lotte Department Store in Sogong-dong, there are so many beautiful places to go in order to see Christmas lights and trees in full glory. Here are the most beautiful Christmas lights in Seoul you shouldn’t miss.

Shinsegae, Lotte Department Store & Co., Myeongdong

During Christmas time, the whole area of Myeongdong is coated in twinkling lights. The two main department stores, Shinsegae and Lotte, compete over who has the most extravagant Christmas set-up – and they love to outdo each other year after year.

This year, it’s hard to choose a winner as both have decorated their storefronts absolutely beautifully.

COEX Starfield Library, Gangnam

Every year, Starfield Library located in the center of COEX Mall features beautiful holiday decorations. From a large Christmas tree made of 14,000 books to a tree with a polar bear family that looks like they are straight out of a fairy tale, the Starfield Library at COEX Mall celebrates every Christmas season with a variety of trees.

Lotte World Mall, Jamsil

Lotte World Mall in Jamsil is another great place to check out Christmas decorations. This year, they an entire Christmas theme park under the theme Wonder Wish Garden.

The area is filled with shimmering trees and a stunning French-style carousel.

IFC Mall, Yeouido

One of my favorite malls in Seoul, directly connected to the 5-star luxury hotel Conrad Seoul, also has some beautiful holiday decorations that are worth a visit.

This year, it’s a beautiful set of glimmering trees and mailboxes for letters to Santa.

Molto Myeongdong

Molto is a popular Italian espresso bar in Myeongdong view a beautiful view of the Myeongdong Cathedral. In the winter, they set up beautiful Christmas decorations that are truly unique in all of Seoul.

Grab a hot drink and enjoy the views of Myeongdong Cathedral below along with the Christmas tree.

Jane March Maison (제인마치메종)

This is a cute little store in Seongsu-dong where you can take some of the most beautiful holiday photos this season. Drop by and take some cute shots!

Hyundai Department Store Trade Center Store

One of the most popular places to view Christmas decorations this season! The theme is a kind of teddy bear-filled Santa Clause workshop called “La Boutique d’Harry”.

The 2023 Christmas Village is based on the concept of Harry’s dream shop. It’s like a small European winter town.
