The 11 Most Instagrammable Spots in Hong Kong
This post is dedicated to the Most Instagrammable Spots in Hong Kong (aka the Best Photo Ops in Hong Kong) – which come complete with a Map, and my favorite shots taken in each location.
Temple Street Night Market
Kicking off the list with one of my favorite Instagrammable spots in Hong Kong. Temple Street Night Market is one of the best markets in Hong Kong and you can buy here almost anything your heart desires. I also did a food tour here with Hong Kong Foodie Tours and I highly recommend this experience!
I had seen the below view of the stunning Temple Street Night Market a dozen times on Instagram and after quite a bit of research finally figured out where to get this shot from!
HOW TO GET TO TEMPLE STREET NIGHT MARKET: Jordan MTR exit A, turn right along Jordan Road and then Right onto Temple Street. There is a car park right there and when you head up to the 4th floor, you’ll be able to get this perspective.

Big Buddha on Lantau Island
Of course no list of the best photo locations in Hong Kong would be complete without mentioning the stunning Tian Tan Buddha, or “Big Buddha”, on Lantau Island.
The statue is really Instagrammable from all different angles but a birds-eye-view from the Ngong Ping cable car is my favorite!

Nan Lian Garden
Nan Lian Garden is located right in front of Chi Lin Nunnery and is a beautiful Tang Dynasty-style Garden maintained by Nuns. You can easily spend hours here taking amazing pictures from all angles. My personal favorite shot is the one below.
HOW TO GET TO NAN LIAN GARDEN: Head to MTR station Diamond Hill and take Exit C2, then simply follow the signs.

Man Mo Temple
Man Mo Temple is a true gem amidst the iconic Hong Kong highrises of Sheung Wan. The temple worships the civil or literature god Man Tai (文帝) and the martial god Mo Tai (武帝) who have been worshipped by scholars and students for their studies since the Ming Dynasty.
As soon as you enter the temple, you’ll be consumed with the burning scent of incense from the large spirals on the ceiling and the warm light from the countless glowing red lanterns. You can get so many Instagram shots here it’ll be hard to pick “the one”.
HOW TO GET TO MAN MO TEMPLE: Head to Sheung Wan MRT Station and take Exit A2. Next, walk up Hillier Street, turn right onto Queens Road, turn left and follow Ladder Street to Hollywood Road. Man Mo Temple is on the left.

HOW TO GET TO NATHAN ROAD: You can easily get to Nathan Road from Tsim Sha Tsui MRT Station Exit E, N5, A1 or A2.

Shing Wong Street
I stumbled upon this photo location by pure accident and later found out that it’s one of the most fascinating areas of Hong Kong. Shing Wong Street is a perfect example of old and new Hong Kong, connecting Central with Sheung Wan.
The below mural was created by Christian Storm, a Danish urban contemporary artist. He loves to combine geometric elements with traditional Chinese culture and this mural of two koi fish is the perfect example. The vibrant teal and orange colors have a calming effect, too.
HOW TO GET THERE: Shing Wong Street at the junction with 82 Hollywood Road.

Choi Hung Estate
Currently topping the list of all Instagrammable spots in Hong Kong, this colorful apartment complex is the first thing that pops up when you google Hong Kong photo locations. It’s a beautiful urban rainbow wonderland for photographers and Instagrammers of all sorts.
Get here as early in the day as possible because this place gets literally flooded with photographers and wannabes who want to take the exact same shot as you.
HOW TO GET TO CHOI HUNG ESTATE: Head to Choi Hung MTR Station and take Exit C4. The colorful basketball court is on top of the car park at the Estate.

Chi Lin Nunnery
If you are looking for a quiet place in the midst of the busy concrete jungle, Chi Lin Nunnery is just the place. Located next to Nan Lian Garden, the temple complex is comprised of various dark wooden halls, koi ponds and a precious collection of bonsai trees. The nunnery is open to the public daily and free of charge to enter.
HOW TO GET TO CHI LIN NUNNERY: Head to MTR station Diamond Hill, take Exit C2 and follow the signs.

Victoria Peak
No article about beautiful photo locations in Hong Kong would be complete without mentioning the iconic Victoria Peak. In facts, Victoria Peak probably tops the list of all instagrammable spots in Hong Kong. If you head directly to Lugard Road from the Peak Tram, you’ll get the best view of that stunning Victoria Harbour skyline. Besides taking the tram, you can also reach Lugard Road via bus, taxi or walking.
HOW TO GET TO LUGARD ROAD VIEWPOINT: Head to Central MTR station and take Exit J2. Turn left onto Jackson Road, follow the curve of Des Voeux Road Central round to the left onto Garden Road to reach The Peak Tram. Once you’re up on the tram station, turn right and walk along the Lugard Road path for about 20 minutes until you reach the famous viewpoint.

A Symphony of Lights at Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade
Every night at 8 PM, the highrise buildings on both sides of the harbor come alive with the “A Symphony of Lights” music and light show. The best place to see the free spectacle is from Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade on the Kowloon Peninsula side of the city.
Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade also boasts the famous Avenue of Stars, a waterfront walkway with iconic sculptures. In late January 2019, the avenue has been reopened to the public after 3 years of renovation.
Seriously – this light show is so iconic it has become one of the best Instagrammable spots in Hong Kong.
HOW TO GET TO THE SYMPHONY OF LIGHTS: Head to MTR station Tsim Sha Tsui and take Exit J at Tsim Sha Tsui. You will be right on the promenade.

Mong Kok Flower Market
Flowers are always pretty to photograph and this amazing flower market has quickly become one of the hottest instagrammable spots in Hong Kong. The best time to visit is early in the morning when the flowers are still fresh. Admission is free.
