Checking In: Gallery Park Hotel & SPA, Riga
Riga is a key economic and financial center for the Baltic states, which include Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. However, Riga also has a lot to offer in terms of attractions, such as the oldest houses in the city called “Three Brothers” or the Old Town Center made up of the photogenic House of the Blackheads. I was invited to stay at Gallery Park Hotel & SPA, a 5-star luxury boutique hotel, and member of Châteaux & Hôtels Collection, located in Riga’s historic center.

Art Nouveau & 19th-century mansion
The Gallery Park Hotel & SPA is housed inside a 19th-century mansion, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Building and a Latvian State Monument. The hotel is located in Riga’s Art Noveau district and only a short walk to the historic Old Town. Premier attractions, including the Riga Congress Hall and Latvian National Museum of Art are situated just across the street of the hotel.
As soon as you set foot into the impressive hotel lobby, you are transformed back in time to the 19th century and feel like a princess. All of the furniture at the hotel is made up of authentic antics purchased in Latvia and around the world. Most of the rooms also have high, hand-painted ceilings, fireplaces and antique chandeliers. Moreover, the hotel features a swimming pool, on-site secured underground parking, a Gallery SPA with sauna and fitness room, and a private Mercedes S-class & Viano fleet.
Some of the other comfortable services at the hotel include:

Convenient Location in the heart of Riga
The Gallery Park Hotel & SPA is situated in the historic center of Riga and within walking distance to all major sightseeing spots, such as the Art Nouveau District and Riga’s Old Town Center. While there are bus stops right in front of the hotel, I didn’t have to take any public transportation during my stay because of the hotel’s convenient location in the heart of Riga.
GREAT LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CUISINE
The Gallery Park Hotel & SPA takes great care of their guests – especially when it comes to food. Whether it’s a full breakfast assortment, dinner options in-house or a delicious drink at the 24-hour bar, you won’t stay hungry for long at the Gallery Park Hotel & SPA in Riga.
Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet offers a great mix of breads, cereal, fresh fruit and juices, as well as coffee. Be sure to try the local black bread Latvia is so famous for. On top of this vast selection, you can also order from an à la carte menu free of charge if you’ve booked your room with breakfast.
Renomme Restaurant
Renomme is an award-winning restaurant located inside the Gallery Park & SPA is a popular meeting place for locals and Riga guests. The restaurant has also been voted “The top 10 best restaurants of Europe” and is ideal for luncheons or dinner occasions. Dining at Renomme is an experience for your taste buds as you can try seasonal local products prepared by culinary professionals, paired with great wine. You can also enjoy drinks and meals outside on the Gallery Terrace and have a drink and a fine cigar at the art-deco Gallery Bar, which is open 24 hours.
GALLERY SPA – A TIMELESS OASIS
The Gallery SPA was one of my favorite areas of the hotel. It’s the perfect place to warm up in a sauna, have an energetic swim in a jet-stream swimming pool or work out in a Technogym equipped fitness room.
If that wasn’t enough, you can also book various treatments here: massages, facials, aromatherapy or warm body wrapping.
Rooms in detail
The rooms and suites at the 5-star Gallery Park Hotel SPA have everything to make you feel at home: fine linen, soft towels, and bathrobes produced by the best Italian house Frette. The bathrooms have beautiful marble or ceramic floors and feature in-room toiletries from Fragonard and Bulgari. The suites and rooms on the second and third floors have handpainted ceilings and are equipped with antique style of Napoleon III.
The junior suite I stayed in also had a large balcony with views of the blooming park across the street. Other rooms have views of the Academy of Arts, Riga Congress Centre and the Latvian National Museum of Art.
