Checking In: Living Hotel Nürnberg by Derag in Nuremberg, Germany

Reading Time: 3 minutes

With state-of-the-art medieval architecture and a fairytale castle called Kaiserburg, it’s not hard to see why Nuremberg is a popular tourist destination in northern Bavaria, Germany. I had the chance to visit the beautiful town recently and was invited to stay at Living Hotel Nürnberg by Derag, a four-star property near the center of Nuremberg.

Universal Design with Local Charm

The concept of the hotel is simply: no matter where you are from, when entering the hotel room, you should feel at home. To achieve this, the hotel’s interior design is classic, simple with modern flair. Throughout the hotel, you’ll find regional paintings and photographs related to Nuremberg, something I always appreciate and admire in hotels who love their city.

Some of the other comfortable services at the hotel include:

  • Suit Press
  • Shuttle Service (surcharge)
  • Concierge Service
  • Baggage Storage
  • Fax/Photocopying
  • Dry Cleaning
  • Laundry
  • 24-Hour Front Desk

Superb Location near City Center Nuremberg

While you can easily get around Nuremberg by bus and subway, nothing beats a central location when traveling! That’s why I loved staying at Living Hotel Nürnberg by Derag. You’ll only need about 8 minutes on foot to reach the center of Nuremberg and pass historic sites and landmarks along the way!

If you want to take the subway, the hotel is a 5-minute walk from Plärrer Square with good tram and underground connections to all parts of Nuremberg.

Great Local and International Cuisine

On top of a full breakfast buffet on the second floor, the 4-star Living Hotel Nuremberg also has its very own restaurant with beer garden for a true Bavarian dining experience on the first floor. I was invited to dinner by the lovely staff at the Living Hotel in Nuremberg and got to sample a variety of their dishes. Whether you are looking for a refreshing salad, a hearty local sausage meal or authentic Italian pasta – you’ll all find it at Restaurant Maximilians! The beer garden opens in May and the opening hours from 04:00pm-10:00 pm.
