Fivelements – Balinese Flower Baths in Ubud
The healing powers of water have been used in Bali in combination with herbs, flowers and ritual prayers for centuries. The purpose is restoring energy by providing a spiritual connection with the divine powers of the water. You can find a haven of spirituality and relaxation in Fivelements, an eco-luxury resort offering one-of-a-kind Balinese flower baths in Ubud.
Here’s why you should visit Fivelements for their Balinese Flower Baths in Ubud
WHAT IS FIVELEMENTS?
Fivelements is an eco-luxury retreat combining spa treatments with Balinese traditions and philosophies tailored to you. Carefully taking advantage of the healing powers of plants and Balinese village remedies, Fivelements exclusively uses all-natural and superfood ingredients in their beauty rituals, bathing, skin care, and massages. All ingredients are grown and gathered by hand from Balinese gardens and primarily consist of petals, leaves, bark, roots, seeds, nuts and fruits.
FIVELEMENTS BATHING RITUALS
I was invited by Fivelements to an ‘Aromatic Flower’ experience in Ubud, Bali. The bathing experience takes place in the ‘Healing Village’, featuring eight private riverside healing rooms for Balinese therapies. These rooms have ensuite bathrooms, bathhouses with stone-healing bathtubs and safe deposit boxes to store your valuables.
The flower bath is prepared in a large stone bathtub next to a scenic river with lush nature. The outdoor bathing area is completely private and away from the eyes of any other visitors.
A Fivelements spa expert fills the bathtub and adds colorful Balinese flowers and Ahimsa bath oil into the bath tub in front of the guest. You can enjoy the relaxing flower bath alone or with a partner (cue: honeymoon!). The whole experience takes up to one hour and costs 490,000 ($35 USD) for single visitors and 595,000 ($45 USD) for couples.
ECO-LUXURY ROOMS
As soon as I set foot on the large Fivelements property on the outskirts of Ubud, I felt like entering a different world. The retreat consists of lush gardens with various bamboo buildings featuring a reception, spa center, yoga halls and nine exclusive suites.
I had the opportunity to inspect one of their suits and was blown away by the beauty of the room. The Ayung River can be heard from each room giving the illusion of sleeping outdoors in the jungle. Each suite also has an open veranda overlooking the river including a private bamboo patio with large open-air bathtub. This is the same bathtub where the Balinese flower bath takes place.
FIVELEMENTS FACILITIES
The Sakti Dining Room is a bamboo dining hall that also overlooks the river and serves a variety of ‘Living Foods’, raw vegan options as well as other plant-based dishes. The Sakti Lounge also offers personal health coaching and healing food training to all guests. Throughout the property, you will also find several bamboo huts specifically designed for yoga and meditation sessions. Fivelements also offers beauty treatments for body, face, nail, and hair.
Guests staying at Fivelements also have access to a heated therapy pool and a larger main pool. Both pools are equipped with relaxing massage jets, underwater music and stimulating lighting.

SPA EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
Fivelements’ Balinese flower bath truly was the best spa experience I have had to date. Nothing beats a beautifully arranged bathtub next to a lush riverbed. I highly recommend Fivelements and will definitely return and stay at one of their nine exclusive suites.
No compensation was received for this review, instead, Fivelements kindly offered this experience free of charge. All opinions are my own. I only recommend products & services that I personally love and use myself.
