5FOOTWAY.INN PROJECT BOAT QUAY – STYLISH BUDGET HOSTEL IN SINGAPORE
Having retained its title as the world’s most expensive city for expatriates for four years in a row, Singapore does not burn a hole in your wallet if you travel smart. This starts with choosing the right accommodation. 5footway.inn is a hip budget hostel in Singapore with 5 properties offering modern facilities in historic buildings and areas around Singapore. I recently had the opportunity to stay at 5footway.inn Project Boat Quay and my time there couldn’t have been any more pleasant.

HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TO STAY AT 5FOOTWAY.INN BOAT QUAY IN SINGAPORE:
SMART FACILITIES AND FRIENDLY STAFF
The moment I entered the historic Boat Quay building of 5footway.inn, I was welcomed by a mix of old and new designs from traditional paper light installments to a modern self-check-in machine. Photos of the neighborhood in past times hang next to modern drawings and photography by local Singaporean artists, such as black-and-white images by internationally renowned photojournalist Edwin Koo.
I could also tell that the staff was very passionate about their country as they carefully explained to me the story behind the building and how coolies, foreign immigrants to Singapore, transported goods around the five-foot narrow path between the Singapore River and the boat quay houses for trade. Moreover, the walls of the lobby area are decorated with Polaroid photos of staff and guests, Singlish phrases to know and a smart map of the most important neighborhoods and attractions around Singapore. Everything is well thought through to make their guests’ stay as pleasant as possible.
PERFECT LOCATION TO EXPLORE THE CITY
Half the size of Los Angeles and only about 2/3 the size of New York City, the center of Singapore isn’t too hard to navigate on foot. Staying at 5footway.inn Project Boat Quay, you are not only close to two MRT Stations, but you can even walk to key attractions like the Marina Bay Sands and the Supertree Grove within 30 minutes. Along the way, you’ll pass interesting sites like the Museum of Asian Civilizations, Chinatown or Telok Ayer Market. Within close proximity of the hostel, you’ll also find excellent dining options, such as Jumbo Seafood featuring the famous Singapore Chili Crab.
