Inside Bangkok Don Muang Sleepbox Airport Hotel
Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations to start out a trip through Southeast Asia. Affordable flights take visitors from across the world to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi or Don Muang airports, many of which need to transfer between the two to catch connecting flights. On my recent Thailand trip, I tried out the widely talked about Bangkok Don Muang Sleepbox Airport Hotel and had a very positive experience. If you are looking for a comfortable place to relax before or after a flight in Bangkok, this is your best bet.
HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD TRY DON MUANG SLEEPBOX AIRPORT HOTEL
Premier Location
If you need to catch an early flight from Bangkok or arrive late at night, many like to choose a nearby hotel to spend the night. Let me tell you, it doesn’t get any closer to the airport than with Sleepbox. Don Muang’s airport hotel is located literally inside the airport. The rooms are located on the 4th floor of Terminal 2, literally 5 minutes from the check-in. Sleepbox also offers a lounge and coffee bar.
COMFORTABLE ROOMS
Sleepbox offers 25 rooms inside the Don Muang airport in Bangkok. Each room is approximately 13 to 15 sqm big and features a big bed, a television, and an ensuite bathroom with amenities. I was surprised to see the thoughtful decor and complimentary water bottles and WIFI access. However, due to the fact that the rooms are located inside the airport terminal, the walls are quite thin and really do remind you of a box. Therefore, you can actually hear the airline announcements inside the room and you cannot control the temperature. I wished Sleepbox also provided earplugs. Next time, I will be sure to pack some. Nevertheless, I was able to fall asleep and get some rest.
Value For Money
Before heading to Sleepbox, I did some research online and found a website stating the rates were THB 1,000 for 3 hours and THB 1,800 for a full night. However, when I stayed there the rates had changed to THB 2,300 ($68). Another positive is that the rates include a food and beverage voucher worth THB 200 that you can use at the Sleepbox coffee shop. I got a nice sandwich and caramel latte after checking out to catch my flight to Korea.
All in all, I must say that I enjoyed the atmosphere and how easy it was to get there and sleep inside the airport. It turned out to be a little more pricey than I expected, at around $68. However, the nice hot shower and food vouchers made it totally worth it. I recommend staying at Sleepbox if you have no time to waste to leave the airport in Bangkok. It’s also great when your next flight leaves incredibly early in the morning.
