After going through various websites, magazines, books, girl talks and blogs, you have realised that things to do in Seoul are aplenty.

And indeed they are! To help you out, here is a list of top things to do in Seoul for Single Female Travellers:

Chill out at Dog, Cat or Sheep cafes

This one is for animal lovers. Seoul, along with rest of South Korea has these unique cafes. At a dog cafe, you get to spend a few hours playing with their resident dogs! The same applies for Cat cafes and Sheep Cafes.  Of course, you need to order drinks and food.

Bicycle along the Han River

The riverside in Seoul has been developed beautifully with pedestrian walkways, bicycle paths, public parks and restaurants. Hire a bicycle and spend an evening exploring the area.

Experience a Jimjilbang

A curious mix of sauna, spa and entertainment facility, a Jimjilbang is a must visit while on your trip to Seoul. It is sort of a public bath house segregated by gender. Most Jimjilbangs are open 24*7 and they also double up as the city’s cheapest form of accommodation.

Go Shopping

Visiting Seoul and not shopping is a crime! The city has the best of both worlds- top class designer boutiques along with street shopping. Some areas and shops where you will get good bargains are Myeongdong, Hongdae Free Market, Insadong, Itaewon and Dongdaemun. Do go midnight shopping at Dongdaemun Street Market.

Explore Bukhansan Mountain

Mount Bukhansan is situated at the northern part of Seoul. Well formed hiking trails lead you to the summit point at 342 metres above sea level. The hike provides beautiful views of the city.  

Go Sightseeing

The city has a lot of popular tourist attractions. Gyeongbokgung Palace, National Museum of Korea, Changdeokgung Palace, Namsan Park, Bongeunsa Temple, Alive Museum Insadong Main and the National Folk Museum of Korea are some of the famous Seoul tourist attractions.

Try the Makgeolli

Makgeolli, also known as makkoli, makoli or makgoli is an alcoholic beverage native to Korea. It is made from processed rice and has an alcoholic content of five to seven per cent. Locals claim that it has special medicinal properties.

Seoul is not called City that never sleeps for nothing! Seoul nightlife is so vibrant and so happening and so full of options that it is said if you spend a year partying in Seoul, you will still leave many pubs and clubs unexplored! For single women travellers, safe areas for partying would be Itaewon, Apgujeong and Gangnam District.

Get a taste of the street food stalls

Seoul is a paradise for foodies. Although there are many restaurants spread across the city, it is the street food carts and tents that fill all the open spaces that one must visit to pamper their taste buds. While on your gastronomic tour, you should try Gimbap, Mandu, Twigim, Korean French Fry, Hot Dog, Hotteok and Tteokbokki.
