Seoul is one of those cities in Asia where accommodation is a little on the expensive side. If you’re used to backpacking Southeast Asia, Korea will seem a little more pricey. However, staying in a bomb location in Seoul doesn’t have to be expensive. If you choose Plan A Hostel in Dongdaemun, you’ll get the most of Seoul for little money!
HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE TO STAY AT PLAN A HOSTEL IN SEOUL:
YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
The second I stepped inside Plan A Hostel I felt like I arrived home. The cozy vibe and smiling faces of the staff relieve all the stress from taking the busy subway and navigating your way through the city. You can choose between private rooms with a bathroom and cheaper dormitory beds with shared bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, a shared lounge with a full kitchen including a fridge, a cooking stove and a dishwasher. Washing machines and luggage lockers are available for guests to use as well. I also loved the fact that the entrance and room doors were equipped with electric locks with PIN (so Korean!) and I didn’t have to carry around a key or card. This really added to the homely feel of the hostel.
THERE’S NO BETTER LOCATION
Dongdaemun History and Culture Subway Station (Lines 2, 4 and 5) is within a 5-minute walk of the hostel making it the perfect base for exploring Seoul. I stayed at Plan A Hostel during Seoul Fashion Week that’s held at the DDP, which was so easy to get to. Even when there are no fashion shows, the area is absolutely amazing. There are night markets in the evenings, plenty of food and shopping options and cultural sites and attractions like the Dongdaemun Gate, Seoul City Wall Park or the palaces.
I chose to stay at a room with private bathroom because I needed all the space and privacy to get ready for the fashion show each day. All rooms have a wooden floor, air-conditioning, and bunk beds. Moreover, the room was clean and offered all extras I needed, such as a standing mirror, a proper hair dryer, a Seoul tourist map, extra pillows and blankets and a small table I could use to get some work done on my laptop or spread out all my make-up. In the mornings, I headed up to the second floor to take advantage of the cozy lounge and free toasts and tea/coffee.
